After owning a regular (non-HD) 24" CRT television, the sound from this TV was hollow and actually uncomfortable. I adapted to it after 3-4 weeks. Last night I watched a non-HD broadcast of the movie "I Am Legend", and the action (fight) scenes were so blurry, for I while I thought the movie was made that way intentionally in a sort of fast-action cartoony format, with all the fists and arms flying and after-images trailing everywhere. everything pretty much as stated in specs but picture is poor and no amount of dynamic balance, sharpness or anything else can fix it. as the saying goes... 'ya can't polish a turd.' the 10 year old picture tube toshiba i replaced had a much better picture and my 4 year old sony bravia makes the samsung screen look like a mud puddle. can't return it because during remodel all boxes were thrown out so i'm stuck watching something i hate for few years :-(

Took a chance on this hdtv and regret the decision... people were reporting reliability issues with loss of picture. To be on the safe side, I purchased the set with a three year extended warranty from a local vendor. You can now add my set to the list of failures with the screen failing to black after 13 months of modest use - just outside the Samsung 1 year warranty. This will likely be my last Samsung. I was concerned about. Swivel feature is very nice and unexpected. It is the perfect size for my bedroom, and I'm glad to hear about the lower power feature for late night watching, as another reviewer mentioned. In general I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Many people are facing a black screen and TV repair bills as soon as 3 months after purchase due to poorly engineered power on circuits. These are basically the same failures from 70's to current TVs that use super-cheap capacitors to boot up and commonly fail. Worst problem is the Samsung customer service who will supposedly have it replaced "for free" (the 10 cent part) but only by their one authorized vendor at a substantial $$$ service charge. Buyer beware.

I bought this off my buddy in almost new condition. He gave me a really nice deal because he wanted to upgrade his tv since it is his favorite past time. I was pleasantly suprised about the screen clarity and think that the sound is fine. I found the input connectors quite sufficient for my needs. I purchased this as an Amazon Gold Box deal for $380 shipped back in February. At that price, I figured there had to be a catch. Four months later, I still can't believe what a great TV this has been! I can certainly understand peoples' complaints about the speakers not projecting well, but I have my TV hooked up to a 25-year-old stereo receiver via headphone-to-RCA cable and so don't even notice. This is my first experience with not only an HD TV but with a screen having the ratio this one has. When I have a DVD with a wide-screen presentation, especially an opera or foreign film, subtitles are a must. I will admit to not being a pro but I did do my research when buying this product. After seeing positive reviews in Consumer Reports and Amazon I decided to take the plunge. Two big fears in buying a flat screen have not been an issue with this product. Volume and audio quality has not been an issue. Purchased this unit for my Son's Bedroom. So, we now have this Panasonic, 2- Samsung Plasma's, and a 32" Samsung LCD Compared to the Samsungs, the picture is terrible. Muddy, gray cast, and more red than I can adjust out. Picture does not look natural at all. It is far from slim...almost 3" deep..and weighs 7lbs more than our Samsung 32"! Don't waste your money on this one! ...and oh yea, the viewing angle is TERRIBLE...if you get off-angle at all, the picture is washed out! TERRIBLE PRODUCT

This TV is excellent! I don't have any complaints about it. Picture quality is amazing and, when I get the iPhone in a couple of month, I will definitely connect it to the TV. However, if you are planning to buy this for a living room, don't! 26 inch is small for a living room. My living room is 12.3 x 13.7, and I believe that a 32 inch would have been a better choice. PROS: Received promptly ... out of the box beautiful. The sound is as good as any, picture is perfect (no adjusting) necessary, pretty much "plug n' play". CONS: Nothing of consequence. Would prefer a stand alone dedicated sleep button on the remote... as is you have to go into the menue three steps, I believe it is to set it, and I'm using this tv as the bedroom unit. I would recomend this Panasonic unit to anyone without reservations.

This was really easy to set up after reading a few pages of instruction takes away any problems you might have and the buttons are located in much the same place as any other controller I have ever used. i have a problem buying ANYTHING from 6th ave after my last experience ... i bought a TV from them and received it fully packaged and not working sending the tv back was an issue for me as i do not live in the us so i decided to try to fix it on my own as 6th ave offered no help they told me tvs this size have to be dealt with the manufacturer.. upon taking the tv to be fixed we realized the inside of the tv had been through war as if they sold me a used or "refurbished" tv .... never the less

LCD displays have been around for years in everything from cell phone screens to
computer displays. Like a plasma display they are made of two pieces of glass-like
material with liquid crystals sandwiched in between the pieces of polarized glass.
LCD displays are often called “trans missive” displays because the liquid crystals do
not actually create the light needed to display the images but actually control the
light and the amount of light coming from the display. Basically the display works
on the principal of blocking light emission. Depending on the amount of voltage
placed through liquid crystal they can control the amount of light that passes
through the liquid. The liquid crystal cannot create their own light so an external
light source is necessary and this is in the form of a special fluorescent light bulb.
This bulb placed behind the LCD panel and the light from the bulb is diffused by a
white diffusion panel so that the amount of light emitted onto the LCD is uniform.
The liquid crystals will control the amount of light that passes through the glass
panels and the inner working of pixels and sub pixels to form images and control
color. The LCD pixels act like tiny shutters that either open or close to let light in or
